"Bit of hiking and fresh air. I'm told it's better for the baby
than coffee, cigarettes, and sitting on the couch." Folly smiles
a little and digs around in her pocket for the money, biting
back a dark joke about dumping their third royal in the forest
as she hands it over.

There is not even a trace of worry in his voice, even though he has just implicitly threatened Corwin's children which in itself is a veritable death sentence. Instead, there is something else, a fear that he may have to do something he wishes to avoid at nearly any cost, that of harming family. "I don't want it to go down this way Uncle. If there is a way for this not to happen, and I cannot see it, then I would ask your help in this."

Robin: "Chameleon," she wrinkles her nose at him with a chuckle, but her sparkling eyes do take in a lot of sky and sea as she seats herself in the boat.

Vere: "Indeed," he acknowledges as he pushes the boat off the beach, then springs into it and takes the oars. "It is a valuable ability. I must trust to you to know the true me, for sometimes I myself am not so certain."

Robin: Chirping cheerfully, she continues as they stroll down to the boat,"That went well, I think. No blood, no screaming. A reasonable amount of threats."

Signy: "So, if I wanted to find out more about my mother, who should I talk to?"

Brennan: "Aside from the obvious answers of 'your brother,' and 'your father?'" Brennan
says. "I'd say your best bets are her brother Corwin for the idealized version."

"The Family has a trade surplus on dirty laundry," Brennan says. "You get used to it, after a while."

Marius:
Marius shrugs. "I hope the evidence will persuade you we are not just insane travellers who wish to undermine your faith. Blood tells, and it seems to always speak to us."

Vere:
Vere starts to turn towards Robin, then blinks as she leaps into the water. He drops to one knee, both hands on the floor, head down, eyes closed, and braces himself for the impact of the water as it strikes from all directions. He takes a deep breath and meditates upon what he has learned about Robin's approach to diplomacy.

Martin, Paige, and Julian:

"We were going to go back and find the men," Martin offers. "We're not in shape to
take on a Griffon."

Julian frowns. "You most certainly are not. What will you do if you find it?"

Martin laughs. It's not a nice laugh. "Run like hell and live to fight another day."

"You are your father's son," Julian replies. It's not a compliment. He turns to Paige.
"Tell me where you saw Artemis and Jovian."
