HoC Quotes for April!

Brennan:
"I am Brennan, son of Brand, son of Oberon and Clarissa," he says,
in a voice as cold as Weyland's forge has ever been hot. "Stop
struggling, or I will end you."

Brita:
"You may lead on.. at a _dignified_ pace, so that I may attempt such
repairs to my dishabille. I would also request your name, soldier, that I
may Explain to Her Highness, how _diligent_ you are in the protection
of her city against 'airbreathers' such as myself."

Celina:
"I do believe things will better, else my strength is a shadow." Shockingly,
Celina unhinges at Merlin's echoing of her own doubts and her emotions
rise. She closes the distance---- slides her arms about his shoulders and
hugs him. "All is worries and mischance."

Conner:
"So what I am looking to do is soundly defeat Huon's army while
minimizing damage to Rebma proper and maximizing the heroic quality
of both my army and myself."

Edan:
"Those here from the Land of Peace do not see me in a good light, not at
all. They will think you have taken Shaitan into your midst."

Folly:
"As the years roll past we cease to count them with any precision,"
Folly replies, "but at a guess he would be several centuries old, at
least -- neither the youngest nor the eldest of his surviving brothers.
And I've yet to hear of one of us dying of old age."

Garrett (part of a huge great pattern-walk):
Garrett feels himself starting to panic. He breathes in ragged gasps as his
chest closes in. His palms grow cold and clammy despite the heat around
him. It feels like an eternity since he took his last step. "Walk, dammit!
Walk!" he screams at himself, but his knees wobble and prepare to cave
beneath him. He grits his teeth, forcing the energy of the next impending
scream into his feet.

Hannah:
"I'd say we have the advantage, if they come here. And it's not all on your
head, though you are a good man and an elder and a warrior, and my uncle.
You give your piece, everyone else gives their's, and we win or lose together."

Jerod:
"You must understand that Rebma is in a state of armed conflict at the
moment, and the soldiers escorting you were doing their duty as one would
expect. I'm sure you'll appreciate their diligence once you've had a chance
to develop a clearer picture of the situation here. Their defense of the city
takes precedence over...less pressing matters."

Lilly:
Lilly hesitates for a moment. With no experience in the dallying department,
this might be a bit more difficult then the men realize. Still, she is not about
to admit intimidation on this point. Besides, with luck, she might never have
to put on any sort of public display. And that would be all the better.

Ossian:
"I have always found danger to be most inspirational, my lady." Ossian says,
"Although I can only provide a little protection, the art will be soo much better."

Paige:
"But I'm a dabbler. A bit of Trump, some probability tricks and shadow-shifting,
making sacrifices to forest guardians in the spirit-realm," she adds. "Anything
to keep my hand in, but Father keeps reminding me that I don't excel at much
of anything save making Trouble."

Robin:
Memories of her mother and her priestesses confirm for Robin that there is
no place for her here. One dark interior voice whispers to her of duties not
met and promises not kept, while another sings of a return to a more natural
way of being. But overall, for Robin, the time has come to fly.

Signy:
Signy seems somewhat taken aback. "It seems to be a common occurence,
then, not knowing about the rest of the family...?"At the mention of her father,
she frowns. "He and I had a disagreement. After escaping from his Tower,
I was returning with a band of Heroes to discuss the matter further with him,"
she states in a flat voice.

Solange:
"You *are* the godhead, d@mmit!" Solange shouts, emotions previously held
at a simmer uncontrollably boiling over. "Gerard told me that you died. But if
you didn't die as you claim, then that means you left." She points an accusing
finger at Ysabeau's shade. "You *left*!"

Vere:
He lets the smile fade, and shakes his head. "This is a lesson for us all, that
the penalty for breaking a vow, however good the reason, is always great,
and will be borne by the innocent as well as the oathbreaker. A hard lesson,
my brother. Has it been learned?"
